With over 27 years experience in the hides and skins trade, and being involved with all the major role players in the trade in South Africa over this time.

Roan Viljoen and Hennie de Bot, owner of one of the major abattoirs in the country, decided to join forces in establishing an export company that produces only the finest hides and skins. To achieve the goal, only top quality salt and a drum curing process are being used in the curing process of mostly merino skins from the Western Cape, home of the best merino’s in the world.

Exstor Trade export store is in Ashton, Western Cape, on the the famous Route 62, in the Breede river valley and on the foothills of the Langeberg mountain range. In this picturesque and historical environment, we not only cure approximately 25000 skins per month, but are also involved in shearing of the wool
